For your 9mm pistol build, works great with a suppressor. Most 9mm rounds won’t reach supersonic velocity with only 3″ of barrel length, so you can stay subsonic even with regular factory ammo. uncoated 4150

Wish I would have paid more attention to the fact the barrel is RAW Steel – I wish the barrel was stainless or nitride coated. This would save me the hassle of finishing the barrel by bluing or painting as well as making sure I keep the inside of the barrel well oiled. I think I am going the painting route as the barrel will be 100% covered by the hand guard. I’ll update my review once I put the upper together and test fire. I am looking forward to subsonic 115 grain 9mm suppressed rather than more expensive 147 grain.
sound of freedom – This was a great set up. I loved being able to customize the set up. Only issue I had was my own fault as a newb to building these. I used a heavy barrel in a slim hand guard. It makes adding attachments tough with clearances. Hoping someday to also get an AR10 from here.
