Good overall – Had small scratches on the barrel on arrival. It is fluted as advertised but its very shallow and probably doesn’t remove much weight from the barrel at all. The flahs hider also wasn’t tuned correctly and is slightly at an angle. Like the title says the upper is good for the price but dont expect super high quality.
With minor modifications it runs great – I bought this upper set up for a 3d printed lower and after having to do a bunch of modification it finally fit. Tried to start running some test rounds through it and immediately jammed 1. Turns out I needed to remove the o-ring from the extractor. This is the only reason it’s not a 5 star review. Since then it’s run flawlessly chewing through all the 223 and 5.56 ammo I can feed it. Have a decent grouping at 100yrds.
sound of freedom – This was a great set up. I loved being able to customize the set up. Only issue I had was my own fault as a newb to building these. I used a heavy barrel in a slim hand guard. It makes adding attachments tough with clearances. Hoping someday to also get an AR10 from here.
